Welcome to Music by Hannah

find your musical voice

My mission.

My mission is to change the culture around music-making. Instead of expectations, competition, and elitism, I harbor inspiration, understanding, and accessibility. Music is a voice for magic, brilliance, joy, creativity, and emotion.

Charlie, trumpeter

How to get started.

Choose an instrument. piano, voice, flute, piccolo, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, trumpet, trombone, tuba, music theory and ear training.

Private or group lessons? I offer both private lessons and group lessons. Learn an instrument with one-on-one individualized attention or grab your friends and start a band!

Schedule your free lesson. Your first lesson is free! I offer a 30-minute trial lesson for you and your young musician(s) to decide if we are a good musical match. Parents or guardians are welcome to sit in the lesson or come back at the end for 10-15 minutes so I can answer any questions you may have. Lessons are offered either in-person or online from the comfort of your home.

Sign up for a session. Sessions are offered in half-semester and full-semester packages. You can choose a lesson length of either 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes. I’m happy to discuss and suggest the best lesson length for your young musician!

clarinetist and singer

About your teacher.

My work is to create a container for young musicians to take charge of their learning in the music-making journey. My focus is to help students develop a relationship with music, sound, movement, and play that allows for a lifetime of growth and exploration. Along the way, I’m here to guide their learning and provide support when needs, interests, and wants arise.

I’m a graduate of Ithaca College with a degree in Music Education, K-12. In addition to a growing private instrumental and vocal studio around the Northeast, I spend my time practicing, volunteering, learning, and teaching!

Anya, flutist and pianist

[…] Music is a language anyone can speak. Speak music. Let the notes find their way from your hands to your heart. Music bonds sound to feeling. Let yourself feel the music. You’ll find that even if it feels awkward at first, music is for everyone. It’s sure to brighten your day.
